Welcome to
Accredited Mediators of North America (AMNA)
At the Accredited
Mediators of North America (AMNA), our primary focus is
providing information about mediation and access to
accredited mediators throughout Canada and the United
States. We believe that mediation is a powerful tool for
resolving disputes fairly and efficiently, and we work
to promote a culture of best practices and
professionalism in mediation across North America.
One of our key roles is to accredit mediators to
practise in both countries and ensure they meet the
highest professional standards. We also accredit
mediation training courses to ensure that participants
are taught the essential mediation skills and are
equipped to handle a wide range of conflicts and
disputes.
To achieve our goals, we collaborate with other
professional bodies and organizations to promote the use
of mediation to resolve disputes. We believe that by
working together, we can help to improve the quality of
mediation services and increase access to mediation for
people across North America.
As Accredited Mediators, we are committed to encouraging
the amicable and fair settlement of civil lawsuits and
disputes. We believe that mediation can help reduce the
burden on courts and other legal systems and ultimately
save time, money, and resources for all parties
involved.
In addition to accrediting mediators and training
courses, we also work to train human resources
professionals and managers to deal with conflicts in the
workplace. We believe that by equipping professionals
with the skills of mediation, we can help to create more
harmonious and productive workplaces and reduce the
potential for conflicts to escalate into more
significant disputes.
Overall, the aims and objectives of AMNA are
multifaceted. We aim to assist the public, government,
private and public sectors and professional bodies in
resolving all types of conflicts, from family and estate
disputes to construction and international disputes. We
also aim to help people understand the potential and
benefits of mediation and to accept requests for
mediation on civil disputes and lawsuits. Finally, we
aim to develop competent professional mediators, support
them in the mediation process, and promote mediation to
resolve conflicts in the community.
